Jana and Benji's Kilcairn Halloween wedding

Jana and Benji's Kilcairn Halloween wedding

Jana and Benji had their minds made up from the start: they are going to have a Kilcairn Halloween wedding and it is going to be inspired by "Corps Bride". There was no flowers an the reception, they were replaced by the night-shaded vegetables, such as eggplant and radishes. The bride and the bridesmaids did not carry a bouquet of flowers, they had the most beautiful bouquets made of purple and silver coloured buttons and broches. The tables were decorated with buttons of all shapes and sizes, carefully extracted from the grandma's wardrobe. We all got to take home a little voodoo doll keychains, with the message from the bride and the groom. Oh, I almost forgot: Jana walked down the aisle wearing a black and gold, halter neck dress, looking absolutely stunning! We all stood there speechless, admiring this beautiful and courageous girl! Benji was rocking a fabulous, custom made suit/uniform, with antique buttons going across his chest.

Jana and Benji's touching wedding ceremony was followed by a lively (despite rather cryptic theme) reception, with some spectacular dancing and Halloween themed photo tooth. The couple carved faces in pumpkins and got all sorts of Halloween-themed accessories to take photos with. Another surprise for everyone was the first dance. Not only Jana and Benji surprised everybody with a performance class dance routine, they did it to a hard rock song! What a fantastic show!

We wish those two incredible people many more dances together and many more great celebrations with their loved ones. We would like to thank Jana and Benji for including us in their special day and making us part of the wedding. We hope our friendship goes far beyond this spectacular event!

What brought you together?

Definitely Terry Pratchett. I would never have given him a second thought if he had not started talking to me about my favourite Author. He was interested in me, but I did not care until that night.

What was the one special memory of your wedding?

Definitely the wedding dance! Having excercised and practised so much, it was great being able to leave everyone gobsmacked. Waltzing on a Slipknot song…. Would love to see that topped!

Any advice for the future brides?

Do not stress? Who cares? This is one day in your life. It is what happens afterwards that matters. So if you start worrying about the little things, you will not be enjoying an amazing day!
